Hiking trail Flottarleden

Link direction/ map (Ängebo)

The Flottarleden trail is a scenic experience with
the possibility of doing a circular hike of different lengths.

Starting points

1.
The start is at Ängebo IK clubhouse,
hiking center, below Svågagården,
where a map with trail information is available.
A distance of about 13 km, walk over the ski and hiking bridge,
follow the lighted trail or, if it is wet,
turn off onto the small gravel road to the right
and after 100 m turn left until you
come out to the main road where there are signs.
Follow the Svågaleden marking and after about 2 km,
you will also see the Flottarleden marking.

2.
Take the car and follow the main road west for about 1 km.
Parking for cars is on the right after the last house in the village.
Go over the old bridge, follow Flottarleden
and after about 500 m also Svågaleden.

NB!
New section that extends the trail by 4 km.
The old bridge in Långmor has become in very poor condition,
and you cross here at your own risk.
Here we have made the new section that continues on the south side of the river
until you reach Björsarvsbron.
Cross the bridge and turn back on the north side of Svågan.
A very beautiful stretch that is worth hiking.
After about 500 m you pass Björsarvscampen.
After another 1 km you arrive at Långmor
and the old mill site by the bad bridge.
Here are some descriptions of the site and the rafting.
Continue the hike on the north side along the rafters' path

At the village of Råka you follow the road for about 400 m
and then turn right,
and follow Svågan for another 1 km.
Then you cross the road and follow the ski trail back to Ängebo.

The terrain along the trail is nice and slightly hilly.
It follows the river very close to the shore for long stretches.
It has both rushing and calm water.
The last log was floated here in 1965.
So you can close your eyes and imagine the hard work
that was done along Svågan.

The trail is mostly dry but there are a few small areas
where it can be wet in the spring.
In the summer, most of it has dried up, and a detour is marked.

Tables with benches are available at Långmor, at Björsarvscampen,
and also when you get to the main road,
where Back Pelles Runda starts.
There are also benches placed in a few places along the trail.

There is an opportunity to start at Björsarvscampen,
perhaps spend the night and walk several trails over a few days
and discover the nature of Svågadalen.
